We continue to explore issues in Empirical Trade assuming the student has mastered the fundamentals in microeconomics, trade theory and applied econometrics. All readings will be from leading journals, all available online through the university website. Feenstra (2004) as well as Bowen, Hollander and Viaene (2001) will also, occasionally be referred to. The syllabus will be somewhat eclectic, as is the field of empirical trade, and reflects the strengths and research areas of the instructor.

As student numbers will be small, all students will be expected to actively participate in the material and will occasionally be called up the board to explain points, problems or even summarize full papers in more detail. There will be a written take-home mid-term exam and take-home final exam, mostly based on problems from the readings.
