This course provides empirical studies of economic systems in a point of comparative view. After Lehman Shock, the government roles in economic development become more and more important to Economic Policy. In order to make adequate strategies and policies, we must know the economic structures not only of national level but also of international level. Recently International Input-Output Analysis draws attention as a useful tool for analyzing these structures. This class will provide the basics of Input-Output Analysis and its Applied Techniques such as Environmental problems, Value Added in Trade, and Value Added Tax.

・Students can acquire the Input-Output technique as an example of planning techniques and the basic theories for economic policy. ・Students can acquire the calculation techniques of Microsoft Excel.

Evaluation will be based on the score of homework and the final exam 50% each.

This course will be given basically in a didactic manner and practical training sessions. Students are assigned to read the readings specified in the above schedule and handouts. Additional readings may be assigned in the class.
