授業の目的

This course focuses on 'The Path to AI'. In it, we will study various technological advances through history, focusing on the changes they brought to civilization. In the course, we will consider each of these technologies as a 'component' within AI ( for example, how architecture increased our ability to create structure and frameworks, which appear in subsequent technologies incl. AI).This will help us to better understand the types of impact that AI (artificial intelligence) will bring in the near future and beyond. Major technological advances, such as architecture, printing, television and computers have led us along the path that now brings AI into our lives. Students who take this course will have a better understanding of what AI's potentials and threats are, by considering it in a historical perspective. They will also become far more fluent in their ability to communicate about technology and society.
