This course for doctoral program students aims abilities in research question setting, mode formulation, and model analysis. In addition, this course aims to foster the ability of conducting quantitative and empirical research using a simulation approach. This course also covers the mechanics of academic writing and paper publication, such as organizing research papers and understanding the paper review process. Almost all the materials are English materials. Since many international students register this course, we offer this course as the real-time online course using Zoom. The schedule is subject to change.

Read the assigned reading materials before each class. The materials are downloadable via the YNU education assistance system. Since the class offers various assignments, such as paper reviews, paper presentations, and research idea presentations, the class contents should be carefully reviewed after each class. In particular, students should make a real effort to develop a research idea using a computer simulation method.
