Students will learn how to write a short academic paper with clear, coherent, and logically organized paragraphs. Students will also learn how to use writing as a tool for critical and creative thinking.

The homework for every class is preparation for the next class. Students must first review what was learned in the previous class, and then do all assigned homework which will be uploaded before the next class. Homework will consist of reading, writing, and revising activities.

By the end of the course, students will be able to write a short academic essay with a minimum of grammatical errors, write logically organized paragraphs using effective supporting sentences and concrete details, present their ideas precisely and accurately, and use writing to critically assess their own ideas and generate creative ideas.

By the end of the course you will have written a short academic essay, become proficient at writing logically organized paragraphs, learned how to present your ideas clearly and concisely, and developed your ability to use writing as a tool for critical and creative thinking.

You will be actively involved carrying out short-term and long-term tasks and projects as a means of learning how to write. Cllass time will be spent working together with your classmates in pairs or small groups, with a significant focus on peer editing.
