The purpose of this class, which will be conducted entirely in ENGLISH, is to obtain a deep understanding of management and economy in China through a week-long study visit to Shanghai. Lectures will be provided by professors from the East China Normal University (ECNU) MBA Education Center. ECNU will also coordinate the company visits. Students will have ample opportunity to interact with Chinese MBA students as an additional route to obtain current information, knowledge, and understanding.

Students will travel to Shanghai and attend the lectures and site visits. On the sixth day in Shanghai, students will make brief presentations about their findings on the trip. Students will submit term paper (8 to 10 pages, in Japanese or English) on LMS within one month of the completion of the course. The term paper must include the following three items: (1) Brief summary of what you learned each day in Shanghai (one paragraph per day); (2) Your own opinion, impression, and reflection on the content of the course (1 page or less); and (3) an essay on, “The Challenges facing Japanese Companies in China and how to overcome these challenges” (3-4 pages).

Interested students should contact the International Programs Office (IPO) of College of Business Administration, and the instructor of this course. Students will be screened as necessary. Each student is responsible for his or her expenses related to traveling to and from Shanghai and staying in Shanghai.
本科目は、社会人専修コース以外の経営学専攻博士課程前期の学生（２年生以上）、及び、経営学専攻博士課程後期の学生、及び、経営学部の学生（４年生以上）のみが履修することができる。
※ 経営学部の学生（４年生以上）の単位の取り扱いについては、別途掲示予定
経営学専攻博士課程前期経営学専攻社会人専修コースの学生は、同内容の科目「特殊講義（Shanghai Study Visit [Business and Economy in China]）」を履修することができる。
