In this course, students will learn about advanced theories in comparative management, international management, and international human resource management through cases and the latest research results.
The lectures in charge of this course are different between the first half and the second half. Dr. Yang will be in charge of the first half and Dr. Yokozawa will be in charge of the second half, and they have different research backgrounds. Therefore, students can learn and understand comparative management and international management theories from diverse perspectives.
In principle, the lectures will be conducted online, and the language used throughout the course is English.

For the first half of the course: Be sure to read assigned articles before each class. The reading list will be uploaded on the YNU learning support system (the date will be notified in advance).
For the second half of the course There is a pre-reading assignment which you must complete by the third lecture. A reading materials and assignments are announced in the first lecture. Lecture and supplemental materials will be posted on the YNU learning support system which students can use to pre/review.

In this course, the grading criteria differs between the first half and the second half. The final evaluation will be the calculated based on the the first and second half evaluations.
For the first half of the course: 1) Class participation: 30% 2) Pre-reading assignments and homework assignments: 30% 3) Mid-term report 40%
For the second half of the course 1) Class participation (attendance, participation during class and group discussion) 30% 2) Pre-reading assignments and homework assignments 30% 3) Final report 40%

Basically, lectures will be synchronous. Many discussion questions will be posed to the students during the lecture which students were expected to actively involved in the discussions. At the end of the first half/the second half, students need to write and submit a mid-term report/final report and submit it through YNU learning support system. All reports need to be written in English language.
